BetMGM

Overview and History

BetMGM is the online sportsbook arm of MGM Resorts International, one of the most recognizable names in the casino and entertainment industry. The platform launched as a joint venture between MGM Resorts and Entain (formerly GVC Holdings) and has rapidly become one of the largest sports betting operators in North America. BetMGM entered the Ontario regulated market to offer Canadian bettors a premium experience backed by decades of hospitality and gaming expertise. The operator is fully licensed by the AGCO, giving Ontario residents confidence in its legitimacy and player protections.

Betting Markets and Sports Coverage

BetMGM delivers solid coverage across all major North American sports. NHL betting is a priority, with extensive pre-game and live markets including moneylines, puck lines, totals, period betting, and player props covering goals, assists, and shots. NFL and NBA coverage is equally thorough, and CFL markets are available throughout the regular season and playoffs.

The one-game parlay feature is a highlight, allowing bettors to combine multiple selections from a single game into one bet. This is particularly popular for primetime NHL and NFL matchups. Soccer coverage includes the major European leagues, MLS, and international tournaments, while additional sports like tennis, golf, boxing, UFC, and auto racing round out the menu.

Live betting is well-executed, with a clean interface and a good selection of in-play markets. The odds update reasonably quickly, and the platform supports cash-out on many live and pre-game wagers.

Mobile App Experience

The BetMGM app is available on iOS and Android and provides a clean, well-organized betting experience. The home screen highlights popular events, while sport-specific sections are easy to navigate. The bet slip is straightforward, and features like one-game parlays and cash out are accessible without friction. The app occasionally runs slightly slower than top competitors like bet365 during peak traffic, but overall performance is solid and the user experience is well above average.

Banking and Payment Methods

Canadian bettors can deposit and withdraw using a range of familiar methods. Interac e-Transfer is supported and is the preferred option for most Canadian users, with deposits processing instantly and withdrawals typically completing within one to two business days. Visa and Mastercard are accepted for deposits, and additional options include PayPal and bank transfers. BetMGM does not charge fees for deposits or withdrawals.

Customer Support

BetMGM provides customer support via 24/7 live chat and email. The live chat agents are generally helpful and responsive, with most queries resolved within a few minutes. The help centre covers common topics like account setup, payments, and responsible gambling tools. Support is available in English, and French-language assistance is available through email.

Pros and Cons

BetMGM's strengths include strong one-game parlay functionality, reliable NHL and NFL coverage, and a well-designed mobile app. The backing of MGM Resorts adds a layer of brand trust.

On the downside, the app can feel slightly sluggish compared to the absolute best in the market, and market depth on niche sports does not quite match bet365's level.

Who BetMGM Is Best For

BetMGM is best suited for Canadian bettors who value a polished overall experience and dependable coverage of the major North American leagues. If you are a fan of one-game parlays, BetMGM is an excellent choice. It earns a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
