How We Rate Sportsbooks

Our sportsbook ratings are based on hands-on testing and a transparent scoring methodology. We evaluate every operator across six key categories to help Canadian bettors make informed decisions.

Rating Categories

Licensing & Trust

Is the operator properly licensed by Canadian provincial authorities (e.g., AGCO for Ontario)? We verify all regulatory credentials and check for any history of compliance issues. Unlicensed operators are never featured.

Odds Quality

We compare the actual odds offered across major sports and markets. Sportsbooks that consistently offer competitive lines score higher. Our odds comparison tool tracks this data automatically across 30+ operators.

Welcome Offers & Promotions

We evaluate the overall value of signup bonuses, including bonus amounts, wagering requirements, minimum odds, expiry periods, and ongoing promotions. A large bonus with unfavorable terms may score lower than a smaller, more accessible offer.

Betting Markets & Coverage

How many sports and leagues are covered? We look at market depth (moneyline, spreads, totals, player props), live betting options, and coverage of Canadian sports (CFL, NHL, etc.).

Payment Methods

We check for Canadian-friendly payment options including Interac e-Transfer, major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and other methods. Deposit and withdrawal speeds, limits, and fees are all considered.

User Experience

We test the desktop site and mobile app for ease of use, bet slip functionality, navigation, and overall design quality. Customer support responsiveness (live chat, email, phone) is also evaluated.
